KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 – The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will table its report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) in Parliament no later than March next year. PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin said the committee had heard the testimony of former 1MDB president/chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and will call some more people including 1MDB president and group executive director Arul Kanda Kandasamy to testify.

“The probe on 1MDB should be thorough by calling all witnesses to ensure that the committee’s report is transparent, thorough and fair,” he said in a statement after he chaired the fourth PAC inquiry session in respect to the management 1MDB at Parliament House here on Wednesday.

The PAC heard Shahrol Azral’s testimony on 1MDB’s governance starting from the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) in 2009 until the official establishment of 1MDB in September 2009. Hasan said the PAC also heard Shahrol Azral’s testimony on the formation of the joint venture company 1MDB-PetroSaudi.

However, Hasan said Shahrol Azral would have to testify again before the PAC on Monday as there was some information which required further clarification. In the meantime, he also said that this should be done before PAC summons Arul Kanda to testify next Tuesday.

PAC will also be calling former 1MDB CEO Hazeem Abdul Rahman on Dec 14, former 1MDB chairman Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh, alongwith another former director Tan Sri Azlan Zainol and 1MDB’s current chairman Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin on Dec 15. The first PAC session involving the company (1MDB) was held on May 19, the second session on June 10 and the third on June 17.
