Typhoon Melor Brings Strong Winds, Heavy Rains To Sabah Till Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 – Tyhoon Melor or known as Nona which hit the Philippines yesterday will also bring strong winds and heavy rains to Sabah, especially to the west coast of Kudat, Pedalaman and Labuan. Meteorological Department Climate and Weather deputy director-general Alui Bahari said the condition is expected to continue until Sunday (December 20), bringing flash floods.

“It is forecasted that flash floods will occur due to heavy rains rather than flooding during the rainy season due to the current northeast monsoon. However the storm would not affect the residents and the surrounding areas as it was considered moderate and not dangerous,” said Alui.
