KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak hopes that more Malaysians will come forward to donate blood as the requirement in the country’s hospitals is very high. He said that the need for blood in Malaysian hospitals is very high.

He said he hope more Malaysians donate blood. He said this through his Facebook page Friday. The prime minister also said that blood donation should be categorised as ‘Harus’ (permissible) in Islam. He also referred to a verse from the Quran in his post, namely that of Surah Al-Maidah, verse 32, which says: “… and if anyone saved a life, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind.”
