Pahang Exco Disappointed Over Twisted Statement On BR1M

KUANTAN, Dec 20 – Pahang Women, Family Development, Communication and Multimedia Committee chairman Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin today expressed her disappointment over the opposition media report which had twisted her speech at the recent UMNO general assembly.

“My suggestion on 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) was twisted and circulated over social media to the extent of causing negative perception among the public. My speech was only focused to the recipients’ eligibility. I had only suggested to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to review the eligibility criteria because certain people who are eligible have not received the aid or vice-versa,” she said.

“I also suggested for government to consider giving the BRIM on a monthly basis and increasing the amount. RM500 was only an example. I did not urged the governnment to increase it to RM6,000, as reported by the portal. The allegation was also inaccurate because she was not representing Puteri UMNO when debating on UMNO president’s policy speech, but was speaking in her capacity as Pahang UMNO spokesperson,” she told reporters after launching the Grand Stockist of Sri Diva beauty product here Saturday.
