Suspect In Brawl In Kota Raya Shopping Complex Detained



KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 – The police have detained a suspect in connection with Sunday’s brawl between customers and cellphone salesmen at the Kota Raya Shopping Complex here. They are also in the midst of tracking down 14 other people to facilitate investigations into the fracas which occurred just before 5pm, on the ground floor of the complex.

Dang Wangi police deputy chief, Supt Habibi Majinji said the 38-year-old suspect who was detained after the incident worked as a parking attendant in the area. He said that the fight was caused by some dissatisfied people, believed to be customers, who claimed they were cheated by cellphone salesmen.

He also said that the images of the other 14 will be issued soon. He said this after attending a function at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters here Monday. In the meantime, there were also a two-minute, 30 second video clip of the fight was uploaded on YouTube.
