KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 – Pos Malaysia Bhd will be releasing 430,000 new stamps on Dec 28 featuring four renowned trains in Sabah, the Hitachi Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive, Railbus, Diesel Multiple Unit (DMC) and Vulcan Steam Locomotive. Of the total, 200,000 stamps are of the Hitachi locomotive (60 sen), followed by 100,000 stamps each of Railbus (70 sen) and DMC (80 sen), and 30,000 Vulcan locomotive (RM5) stamps.

Head of Stamp and Philately Unit Diyana Lean Abdullah said the postal service provider expects the stamp collection to be sold out immediately just like the previous collection on traditional clothes. She said although the philatelic products are categorised under the retail segment, their contribution to group revenue is very small.

For the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2015, the company posted revenue of RM48.7 million, down from RM72.2 million a year ago due to recognition of expired postal orders. Pos Malaysia also unveiled 35,000 pieces of First Day Covers and 2,000 pieces of special stamp folders.
