JOHOR BAHARU, Dec 29 – With only four days left before the New Year, many parents are still busy purchasing school items and getting their children ready for the new school session. Meanwhile, the Plaza Angsana shopping complex to have become the focus point of most city dwellers here to buy school uniforms, bags, shoes and other school items.
Rosli Husin, 41, a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) worker, took a day’s leave to accompany his wife and children to do the purchasing. Admitting there was a slight increase in the cost of school uniforms this year, he said the RM800 budget for his two children, who would be in Standard Three and Form Two, was still sufficient.
H said although there is an increase in prices, he still buy the same quantity of school items, namely two sets of school uniforms each for my son who is in primary school and daughter in secondary school. He said this when met at Plaza Angsana. Rosli chose the ‘Canggih’ brand of school uniforms for his children because of the good quality and durability. The price is also relatively affordable and the brand is widely available throughout the country.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Amiruddin Mohd Nor, 33, said he decided to purchase the required items for his eldest son who is starting kindergarten next year, at the plaza because there were a lot of options as well as interesting promotions and discounts being offered.
Mohammad Amiruddin, an engineer, who lives in Ulu Tiram, said he had put aside RM300 to buy the items for his son after comparing prices before making the purchases. Housewife Jengeneswari Chandragasan, 38, from Skudai, said she spent about RM600 to purchase school items for her two daughters, who would be in Year Two and Six. She said she was think on the amount is sufficient to buy two pairs of school uniforms as well as uniforms for co-curricular activities and other items.
