BETONG, Jan 23 – Thai police arrested a Malaysian believed to be involved in burglaries around Betong district, Yala, over the past month. Betong district Assistant Police chief, Polis Lt Piyawat Khomsri, said the Malaysian identified as Tan Si Wa, 34, lived in Betong after marrying a Thai woman three months ago.

“Police also seized some burglary tools and several rounds of ammunition, in addition to stolen items such as jewellery, mobile phones and watches. Malaysian is believed to have broken into at least 10 houses in the past month. Meanwhile, the man had no permanent job and used the proceeds from his criminal activities to buy drugs for himself,” he told reporters here Friday.
