KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 – The remains of Affiah Ariffin Hew, 23, who died while skiing in France, are expected to arrive at KL International Airport (KLIA) on Friday. According to Affiah’s aunt, Norhazlinda Madon, 39, the remains are expected to arrive at about 5 pm Malaysia time.

“Upon arrival, the remains will be taken to Affiah’s family home at Sunway SPK Damansara and then to Masjid Umar Al Khattab, Bukit Damansara on Saturday, at 9 am for prayers. After funeral prayers, the remains will be taken to Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery for burial,” she said when contacted by Bernama here, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Affiah’s family friend and fellow student in France, Abdul Aziz Asmuni, 23, said all documentation to bring home the remains had been done. Affiah, an economics student of the University of Nantes, was involved in a skiing incident in Nice on Friday.

It is understood that Affiah lost control while skiing before falling and suffering serious head injuries. She was rushed to Pasteur Hospital by helicopter. Affiah was reported to be in critical condition (coma). She died a day later (Sunday morning in Malaysia).
