IGP: Be Patient, Action Will Be Taken Against Papagomo
GEORGE TOWN, Feb 15 – Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told the public to be patient while action will be taken against Papagomo. He said police have interviewed pro-Umno blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also known as Papagomo, who was allegedly caught physically abusing a foreign worker recently.
“The blogger has been called up by the police and also told to produce the man he assaulted. But until today, we have yet to question the victim, who was seen been beaten up in the video clip which has gone viral on social media. We have also asked Papagomo to cooperate with us and produce the man. But until today, he has yet to cooperated with us,” said Khalid.
“Meanwhile, we cannot get emotional to involved due to we cannot just go to arrest somebody who got beaten up on video. We must follow the process, follow the proper process to ensure the justice. Be patient. Action will be taken against them,” he told this to the reporters today at the Penang police headquarters after witnessing the handing over of duties of the outgoing Penang police chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Hanafi to his successor, Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab.
