IGP: Police Have Received Several Reports Against Tun M Over His Blog Post
GEORGE TOWN, Feb 15 – Several police reports have been lodged against former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his blog posting on chedet.cc on one or two days ago, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said today. He said police will start the investigations based on the reports.
“I not sure how many reports have been lodged on this few days but we will started investigation for defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code,” he told a press conference after witnessing the handover of duties ceremony between outgoing Penang police chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Hanafi and new chief Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab.
In a posting on his blog on February 5, Dr Mahathir attacked Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali over his decision not to charge the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak over the case of RM2.6 billion donation and the Finance Ministry, saying he lacked credibility.
