BUTTERWORTH, March 18 – Parti Cinta Malaysia today lodged a police report over the purchase of a bungalow by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng allegedly below market price. Its president, Datuk Huan Cheng Guan, called on the authorities to investigate the allegation raised by Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahaya in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

Huan claimed that Lim’s bungalow of more than 10,000 sq ft in size was bought in 2015 for RM2.8 million when a bungalow of about 5,000 sq ft there was sold for RM3.6 million two years ago. Speaking to reporters after making the report at the Perai police station, he said his party also sought an investigation into the sale of land in Taman Manggis in George Town that was originally reserved for construction of houses for the hardcore poor.

Meanwhile, the People’s Alternative Party called on the authorities to investigate the purchase of the bungalow by Lim. Its secretary, Rahmad Ishak said it does not make sense that a bungalow in a strategic location in the North East district was sold by the owner to Guan Eng at a price with an extraordinary discount.
