KOTA KINABALU, March 26 – Sabah UMNO today have been approved a motion calling for UMNO’s Supreme Council to hold an immediate meeting to discuss action to be taken against party leaders and members involved in the ‘Mahathir Declaration’.
“This included determining appropriate action against members who participated in other movements or activities which were against the party and government interests. Sabah UMNO also urges that stern action be taken against the perpetrators behind the ‘Mahathir Declaration’ who out to threaten parliamentary democracy and disrupt political stability, harmony and public order,” Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman said.
Musa, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, told this to reporters after chairing the Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee meeting here. Also present was Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak. Among others the meeting discussed issues related to the ‘Mahathir Declaration’ brought about by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad together with opposition leaders and several party members.
Musa said Sabah UMNO totally disagreed and rejected the collaborative alliance as their motive was to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, which was clearly against the democratic process. Musa added that Sabah unanimously pledged to give undivided support to Najib, who is also UMNO president, to continue to lead the country.
