CAMERON HIGHLANDS, March 29 – All 210 driving schools nationwide must adopt the online registration system by 2018 to avoid price manipulation during registration. Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi said 57 driving schools have adopted the online registration system which comes with the MS ISO 9000 certification standard.
“The purpose of this online registration is to avoid price manipulation during pre-registration by new applicants. Driving schools will also have to upload the rates without any hidden charges. This follows complaints that would be drivers are charged up to RM2,000 although the ceiling prices for driving licence is RM1,150 for manual and RM1,250 for automatic car,” he said after opening the Federal Territory Driving Institute Development and Modernisation Convention, here yesterday.
Aziz said the implementation of the online registration system will ensure all the arrangement and payment for licence is transparent as it is recorded. “With this, new applicants will have the option to choose any driving school and will not be overcharged by agents who act as middlemen.” The three-day convention which ends on Tuesday is attended by about 100 participants.
