GEORGE TOWN, Apr 3 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he feel disappointed again that Shabudin didn’t dare accept his invitation to present in the coffee meeting on this morning at Komtar to clarify a proposal to build shophouses on land in Kampung Tok Keramat, Seberang Perai Selatan.
“I hope that Datuk Shabudin don’t run or hide from this issue. Please come clean on this Perda land scandal. Reply our questions. Rakyat has the right to know due to this is important as the issue involved public interest, not in privately. I hope Shabudin can explain it” Lim said in a press conference today.
Lim said Shahbudin’s statement that the 3.4ha land was sold at below market price on condition the developer built more low-cost and affordable houses was untrue as the developer had submitted an application to Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP) on March 28 to build 27 lots of shops on the land instead of constructing the housing units. He said he was surprised as to why there was no housing units were built but instead shop houses were proposed.
