Teenagers Held For Riding Stolen Motorcycle In George Town



GEORGE TOWN, April 3 – Two teenagers were detained for riding a motorcycle which was reported stolen in Balik Pulau during an operation to flush out ‘Mat Rempit’ in the northeast district here Sunday morning. Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said during the operation held from 12 midnight to 5am, police detained the teenagers, aged 14 and 16, at Lebuh Cecil here.

He said the motorcycle that the 14-year-old boy was riding was reported stolen in Balik Pulau recently and as he did not possess any driving licence, police arrested both boys. Meanwhile, in JOHOR BAHARU, police arrested three men and a woman believed to be involved in computer gambling activities after raiding a premises in Jalan Maju, here yesterday. Johor Baharu Selatan police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh said the suspects, aged between 26 and 43, were held at about 7pm and police confiscated various gambling paraphernalia at the premises.
