A Passanger Ferry Caught Fire At Langkawi



LANGKAWI, Apr 5 – A passenger ferry caught fire at the Kuah jetty, Langkawi this morning. The fire caused 30 per cent of the ferry was damaged in the blaze, which affected the vessel’s mid-section. The incident happened on 10.15am, there were no injuries reported as there were no passengers on board.

Langkawi Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Zabidi Che Teh said a team of 18 firefighters took about 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control. He said they are still investigating the cause of the fire and the estimated losses involved.
