A 42-Year-Old Mentally-Ill Man Remanded For Six Days



GEORGE TOWN, Apr 6 – Gat Lebuh Macallum hawker stabbed case on Tuesday evening had remanded today. A 42-year-old mentally ill man has been remanded for six days to assist investigations into the case of a 58-year-old man, Lim Cheong Wah, who was stabbed to death while having his meal at a restaurant yesterday.

Northeast district police Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the remand order was obtained from the magistrate’s court. He said an autopsy showed that Lim Cheong Wah died from injuries to his upper right chest. He said in the initial investigations showed the suspect and victim did not knew each other and the knife was seized at the scene. He said the case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
