KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 – Police detained Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Rafizi Ramli yesterday to facilitate investigations over claims he made against Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT). Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar in a Twitter post confirmed the Member of Parliament for Pandan has been arrested.
He said according to the @PDRMsia (the Royal Malaysia Police) confirms YB Rafizi Ramli was arrested a short while ago, outside Parliament House and will be investigated under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972. It is understood that Rafizi was arrested at 6.20pm as soon as he left Parliamenty House.
On Monday, LTAT in a statement had said it had commenced a lawsuit against Rafizi over his claims on gratuity payment to LTAT contributors. LTAT chairman Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor said Rafizi’s accusations were defamatory made maliciously to tarnish the good reputation and credibility of LTAT.
