PUTRAJAYA, April 8 – The government will consider re-opening the First Home Deposit Scheme (MyDeposit) to more applications after the first phase ends this June, if the response is encouraging. Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said on the first day for the MyDeposit applications, the ministry received 13,187 respondents and 2,500 completed applications.
“The ministry would ensure all applications received were checked before approval. In the meantime, my ministry also welcomes the applications which were received as of yesterday, I expect it will be increase in the future,” he said in a statement here on Thursday.
He said at present, there were 10,000 units of houses priced at less than RM300,000 throughout the country and this would increase according to the need and subjected to the developers. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the MyDeposit scheme as tabled in the Budget 2016.
