PUTRAJAYA, April 9 – The report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) proves that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has been slandered all this while. Based on the report tabled by the PAC at the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday, the Minister of Federal Territories, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said it was regretted that the Prime Minister had been accused of various slanders all this while.
“However, a slander has been committed and it has been going on for two years…It is unfair. As human beings, the people should not slander others and should find out the true facts,” he told the media after officiating the new surau building, Surau Al-Muhajirin, at Precinct 9, here Saturday.
Tengku Adnan called on the people against believing any ploy adopted by undesired elements aimed at dividing the Malaysian people. Through the report, he said, the PAC Vice-Chairman, Tan Seng Giaw who is also the Member of Parliament for Kepong from the DAP, admitted that the Prime Minister was not involved at all in what had transpired in the 1MDB.
He said this has been disclosed by the opposition, not from the government…so, let’s close this problem and move forward. Tengku Adnan, who is also the UMNO secretary-general, hoped that the 1MDB would do what it should be doing as a company to improve its management.
The PAC recently scrutinised all evidence concerning the 1MDB and found that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was not involved directly in the issues concerning the company. Meanwhile in SUNGAI PETANI, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said everyone should accept the report issued by the PAC and there should not be any negative issue raised concerning the investigation on the 1MDB.
“The report had been made and it was a reality that must be accepted. It’s already done, must be accepted, that’s the reality. If we don’t accept the PAC report, then whose report are we going to use. The decision had been made, the people must accept and should not raise any negative issue anymore,” he told reporters at an event here.
