Wisma Putra: No Malaysian Casualties In Songkla Bomb Attack

KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 – There are no Malaysian casualties in the bombing attack that took place at the Chana train station in Chana district, Songkla, Thailand on Monday. The Foreign Ministry in a statement Tuesday said Malaysia condemned the attack and expressed its deepest sympathies and condolences to the government of Thailand and the bereaved families.

Songkla 9th Division police chief, Lt Gen Wirapon Chunpakdee was reported saying that the 20kg bomb which was planted on a motorcycle exploded next to a police vehicle at 5.30pm on Monday. A police captain and a two-year-old boy, identified as Ahmad Yasin Madsan, were killed in the incident, while the number of people injured in that attack has risen to 15, up from eight reported Monday.
