GEORGE TOWN, Apr 15 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng urged Federal Government to conduct cloud seeding on a large scale, especially in the northern region states following the continuing El Nino phenomenon. Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng told a press conference on yesterday said Perlis and Kedah which experienced low rainfall were most affected by the phenomenon.
“Even though our dams can last for about two months, without Sungai Muda, we are also similarly affected. This shows how serious the El Nino is. We are experiencing the lowest rainfall in history. Hope the federal government can conduct cloud seeding on a large scale when we have clouds. The cloud seeding will benefit about 4 million people in Perlis, Kedah and Penang Otherwise, the northern region states, including north Perak will also be affected,” he said.
