KAPIT, April 26 – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said it goes without saying that the culture of the Barisan Nasional is to give the best services to the people. He said the struggle of the BN focused on the continuity of excellent services in developing the rural areas, including via education.
“We provide educational opportunities so that our children progress and boost family life.. and one day become professionals who bring development to our areas,” he said here yesterday. He was speaking at a “Leader with the People” gathering at the Emak Libau longhouse, Nanga Antaroh in Sungai Sut, about 30km from here.
Also present were Kapit Member of Parliament Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is also Rural and Regional Development deputy minister, and Wilson Nyabong Igang, the BN’s candidate for the Pelagus seat in the Sarawak state election. Meantime, Ahmad Zahid said the good political environment in Sarawak could ensure the BN would win big in the election on May 7. Nomination was yesterday.
He said that the political environment here is a family affair among the people of diverse races, cultures, religions and communities. He said the people of Sarawak must be united to ensure victory for Tok Nan’s (Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem’s) team. Ahmad Zahid also announced a RM195,000 allocation to repair the Emak Libau longhouse, which will benefit 39 families.
