NGO President And 2 Others Charged With Issuing, Offering Company Shares



KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 – A non-governmental organisation president and two others were charged in the Sessions Court here today with issuing and offering 6,951,921 units of company shares illegally. 

Sahabat Alam Sekitar Malaysia president Datuk Abdul Malek Yusof, 43, and Raja Samsul Bahri Raja Muhammad, 48, pleaded not guilty before judge Mat Ghani Abdullah, while Noor Aida Abdullah, 43, claimed trial before judge Zulqarnain Hassan.

Abdul Malek, a former director in Astana Resources Berhad (formerly known as JPG Holdings Berhad) allegedly conspired with the company to issue 4,887,650 units of shares without a prospectus registered with Securities Commission Malaysia.
