Liow Urged Penang MCA Together To Uphold The Constitution



GEORGE TOWN, Jun 1 – MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai urged Penang MCA together to uphold the Constitution. Penang MCA deputy chairman Tan Teik Cheng also said that Penang MCA oaths to be President’s strong backing, to prevent Hudud passed by Parliament!
Liow noted that Hudud will subvert the country’s secular system, sacrificing the country’s future, we must not allow our country falls into utter hopelessness. He said that in order to save the country, MCA will launch a people’s movement, calling on people across the country together to defend the constitution, strongly oppose PAS’ private bill.
“I will soon be meeting with Prime Minister Najib Razak, to understand BN’s stand on Hudud. I also call on all MPs to veto this bill because the bill contradict the Federal Constitution If Malaysia Shariah law to set maximum sentencing for fines, jail and whipping at the 5-3-6 formula was removed, Malaysia is no longer a secular state,” Liow said.
Liow recently visited Penang, to meet Penang MCA, divisional Chairmen, youth chiefs and women. He explained to them the importance to strongly opposed to Hudud. Even the ruling and opposition parties have to be together to stop this bill. He said he will resign from the Cabinet if PAS’ Private Member’s Bill is passed in Parliament. He also added that there were 2 MCA ministers and 4 deputy ministers will stand with him.
He said the Hudud triggered backlash. BN component parties and Chinese community are strongly against  Hudud. He called on Penang MCA to work together to uphold the Constitution! In addition, Penang MCA deputy chairman Tan Teik Cheng praised Liow dauntless courage that would rather give up his minister post to block Hudud. Thus, Penang MCA oaths to be President’s strong backing to prevent Hudud to be passed in Parliament!
