KUCHING, Jun 13 – Enforcement officers from the state domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism ministry have conducted 2,574 checks on Ramadan bazaars in the city and rural areas statewide since fasting began last Monday. Its head, Mohd Hafidz A. Rahim said the officers conducted the checks daily to ensure consumers received the best from the traders who observed regulations, including charging reasonable price, displaying price tag and observing cleanliness.

“We are planning to have joint checks with other agencies such as the health department, to have more comprehensive checks on the bazaars,” he said when met while conducting the check at a Ramadan bazaar near Pasar Stutong here on Sunday afternoon. — Bernama
