KUCHING, Jun 14 – A stolen Nissan Almera which was used by four men in two robberies last Friday, was found abandoned in a parking area near a private hospital here. Sarawak CID chief SAC Dev Kumar M. M. Sree Shanmugam said the car was spotted on Saturday, a day after the group had committed four robberies in less than 24 hours in Kuching, Padawan and Kota Samarahan.
He said the police have been keeping watch but nothing has happened. He said, about noon Monday, a forensic team began dusting the vehicle for fingerprints and clues to locate the four suspects. On Friday, the group of men armed with knives held up a woman about 4am and made off with a Perodua Kancil in Jalan Kempas.
Meanwhile, they abandoned the car at Taman BDC and escaped with a Nissan Almera at 10am. At 1.30pm, they used the Nissan Almera to rob a woman at Taman Blossom in Padawan before robbing another victim at Taman APT in Kota Samarahan. — Bernama
