Kedah State Govt Decided On RM500 Aidilfitri Assistance For Civil Servants

GEORGE TOWN, Jun 22 – Kedah executive council decided today on RM500 special financial assistance for Kedah civil servants in view of Aidilfitri, to be given together with this month’s salary. Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah’s political secretary Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said a RM250 special assistance would be given to Kedah government pensioners in appreciation of their service.

Shaiful said the payout, which would be credited together with this month’s salary, would cost the state government some RM4 million. He told this to reporters outside the Penang Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) here today. Earlier, Bashah had chaired a state executive council weekly meeting convened at the Penang Hospital this morning.

Shaiful said several other matters were also approved during the one-and-half-hour meeting. He said the MB’s office would like to extend its apologies as Bashah could not give a press conference after the doctor advised him to rest. Meanwhile, he said his boss was a “picture of happiness and good health”, and his condition is expected to improve. He said hopefully Bashah could be discharged soon. Bashah is recuperating in the ICU after undergoing intestinal surgery here earlier this month.
