KUANTAN, Jun 24 – Pahang police have crippled the Ah Fei gang comprising three men believed to be involved in robbery armed with long parang, here. The suspects, aged 19 to 30 years, were arrested in three separate locations in Perak and Penang. Pahang CID chief, Datuk Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said police launched ‘Op Ah Fei’, based on the name of the gang leader, and went to Perak to hunt the suspects.
“The first arrest was made at 7.50 pm in Parit Haji Amin, Jalan Parit Buntar, Perak. The gang leader was nabbed at 10.15pm in Taman Sutera Perai, Penang and the third suspect, on Thean Teik Highway, Bandar Baru Air Hitam, Penang at 11.30pm,” he said, here, Thursday.
Raja Shahrom said police also seized cash of RM4,000 and three cell phones, and the suspects were believed to have an accomplice named ‘Edy’ who was still at large. Police believe their detention can solve two robbery cases in the state and the three were taken to Pahang for a remand order under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
