TAIPING, Jun 24 – The remand order of a man who was detained to facilitate investigations into the death of a little girl in Kamunting on June 14, has been extended until June 27. Taiping district police chief ACP Harrith Kam Abdullah said the remand of the man, in his 30s, ended on Monday.
He said the investigation papers will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor to decide before the remand period ends on June 27. He also said that the man was remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code. He said this in a statement here, Thursday. On June 14, Siti Mahfuzah Baharudin, 4, was found dead in a brick water tank at her house in Kampung Setia Jaya at about 5.50pm. — Bernama
