Five Men Armed With Parang, Daggers, Escape With Two Cars In Robbery



KUCHING, Jun 25 – Five men armed with parang and daggers escaped with two cars and some valuables after tying up four occupants in a robbery at a house in Taman Matang Jaya here, early today. Padawan police chief Supt Choo Yin Kok said the robbers, believed to be foreigners, entered the house by forcing open a kitchen window at about 3am.

The masked robbers then tied up the occupants using telephone wire and covered their mouth with clothes before gathering them in the living room. “They escaped with a white Perodua Viva with number plate QAV 9207 and a silver Toyota Innova with number plate QAU 9051, jewellery, laptops and mobile phones. Losses are still under investigation.”

Choo said the houseowner’s son lodged a report at Gita police station soon after they managed to set themselves free. Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Padawan CID chief, ASP Sofian Abu Bakar at 012-7786919 to assist in the investigation. — Bernama
