Indonesian National Pedestrian Lost Her Left Foot After Being Dragged By A Motorcycle



GEORGE TOWN, Jul 2 – A female Indonesian national pedestrian, 44, lost her left foot after being dragged by a motorcycle at Lebuh Raya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu early this morning. The incident was happened at about 1.40am when the victim was crossing the busy road.

According to Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid, the victim was hit by a motorcycle coming from Weld Quay headed towards Jalan Gurdwara. He said the victim was dragged for several metres which resulted her left foot being severed. He told this in a statement to the media today.

“There is a possibility that the victim severed leg cannot be reattached as the nerves and veins had been damaged. The victim was conscious when she was taken to the hospital. Police is still looking for the motorcyclist who fled on foot after the accident. Meanwhile, we also believe that he is seeking treatment for his injuries at a private hospital. The case is being investigated under Section 43 (1)(A) Road Transport Act 1987,” Mior said.
