Police Distribute 1,500 Cups Of ‘Super Power’ Coffee To Travellers
GUA MUSANG, Jul 4 – The police distributed 1,500 cups of coffee to travellers returning home for the Aidilfitri celebration through Gua Musang on Saturday night. It was carried out under the ‘Coffee Break’ programme and the drinks were distributed to the travellers when they stopped at the Gua Musang rest area along Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Lipis.
Gua Musang district police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said the programme was sponsored by the manufacturer of the “Super Power” coffee brand. Galas Assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusof launched the programme, which was carried out with the cooperation of the Gua Musang Civil Defence Department, the district youth council and the Lion Club of Gua Musang.
In another development, Rajab said 25 road accident cases had been reported at Jalan Gua Musang-Merapoh and Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai within three days after the launch of Ops Selamat, held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration, on June 29. He also added that so far, there is no report of fatal accidents, only damage to vehicles. He said the police would conduct more frequent patrol on roads to avoid traffic congestion and road accidents. — Bernama
