KUANTAN, Jul 15 – The Pahang state government is awaiting the gazetting of a series of VIP vehicle registration numbers by the Road Transport Department before submitting an official application to the enforcement agency. Pahang state secretary Datuk Seri Muhammad Safian Ismail said the state government will enforce the provision of the numbers once RTD gazetted the numbers after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Transport.
“We have not made a formal application. We understand that once approved, the registration numbers must first be gazetted,” he told reporters after a hand over ceremony of the Pahang flag to the state contingent for the 18th Malaysia Games (Sukma) here, Thursday.
The handover ceremony was carried out by the Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah. Also present were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and state assembly speaker, Datuk Seri Ishak Muhamad. Muhammad Safian said the state hoped matters related to the VIP vehicle registration numbers would be finalised before October this year. Earlier Bernama reported the Pahang state government would be introducing special registration plates, VIP 1 to VIP 9999 series to fund Visit Pahang Year 2017 promotions. — Bernama
