Night Market Trader Sent To Jail For Stealing Tiger Beer

KUALA LUMPUR, Jul 22 – A night market trader was sentenced to seven months’ jail and fined RM3,000, in default three months’ jail, by the Ampang Magistrate’s Court here today for stealing alcoholic drinks, worth RM692, from a retail outlet two days ago. 

Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof handed down the sentence on Mohd Azrul Zainul Abidin, 32, who pleaded guilty to the charge. Mohd Azrul was charged with stealing a box of Tiger Beer at Kedai Speed Mart, Pandan Indah here, at 1.15 am last July 20. He was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest on July 20. Deputy public prosecutor Raihanah Abdul Razak prosecuted. — Bernama
