Local Comedian Pak Piee Passed Away At Age 85



KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 – Local comedy actor Shafiee Jaafar, better known as Pak Piee, passed away around 9pm today at his daughter’s house in Teluk Bahang, Penang. He was 85. According to Kosmo Online, the news of his death was confirmed by his close friend, Omar M Hashim.

Omar said that he had received a phone call from Pak Piee’s daughter, Sabariah, who had informed him of Pak Piee’s death. He said Sabariah told him that her father had passed away 10 minutes ago and that they were busy making the funeral arrangements.

In the meanwhile, Sabariah also reportedly said that her father’s remains would be taken to the Teluk Bahang Mosque for funeral prayers before being laid to rest after Friday prayers tomorrow. In August last year, Pak Piee was treated at the Kepala Batas Hospital for several ailments including lung infection. Pak Piee, who was born in Penang and he had been actively acting since the 1980s. Among his most popular movies included Anak Mami, Mami Jarum, Mami Jarum Junior and Nana Tanjung.
