RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 17 – Datuk Lee Chong Wei fought his way into the Rio Olympics men’s singles semifinals after beating Chow Tien Chen of Taiwan at the Pavilion 4, Riocentro here Wednesday. He took 40 minutes to defeat his opponent 21-9, 21-15 in the quarter-final match. Datuk Lee Chong Wei will be facing Lin Dan of China who dispose India’s K. Srikanth 21-6, 11-21, 21-18 in 64 minutes at Pavilion 4, Riocentro.
Datuk Lee Chong Wei said the fact that his teammates have already made two finals is a source of motivation and I am looking to create history by making it three. He said he felt comfortable on court and will prepare mentally and physically for the semifinals. The men’s semifinals will be on Friday.
