GEORGE TOWN, Aug 27 – About 200 SMK Hamid Khan ex-student attending SMK Hamid Khan 39th Gathering 2016 at Jen Hotel here today. The chairman of organiser committee James Quah said this was the first year they organised this event and more to come on the following years.
“The purpose to organised this event is to set up the plat form for all of the ex-student to come to the sense of belonging and also to see what we can contribute back to the school. This also why we would like to set up an alumni. In the meantime, we had started the registration with the Registry of Societies Malaysia (RoS) which we had plan for few months and submitted the final submission on last week,” James said.
“We had already get the record that we had already in their system and just waiting for their approval. Expected the approval to be quite soon. Besides that, we will also organise a dinner session for the ex-student and also their family which we had already targeted on September 16, 2017 for the 40th Anniversary of SMK Hamid Khan,” he said.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I, Dato’ Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon and his wife; Current Head Principal of SMK Hamid Khan, Baskaran Karuppiah; and Event Advisor, Teh Poi Teik in the press conference at Jen Hotel here today before the event started.
