KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 – The KL-Kuala Selangor (Latar) Expressway will be closed to traffic from 3am to 1pm on Sept 25 to make way for cycling event, Latar 99km Healthy Ride. Its chief operating officer, Ahmad Fuad Ahmad Shahimi, said the cycling route will be along the full length of the expressway on both sides from the Taman Rimba Templer interchange to the other end at the Ijok interchange and also along a 30km stretch of adjoining rural roads.
“On the event day, the Federal Route (FT54) Jalan Kuala Selangor-Kepong from Ijok Interchange towards Simpang Tiga Assam Jawa will be closed temporarily between 7am to 10am to facilitate movement of riders heading towards Jalan Simpang Tiga Jeram. As for alternative routes, users from Ijok to Kuala Selangor can use Jalan Bukit Badong heading towards Jalan Rawang-Bestari Jaya and continue to Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan in Kuala Selangor town or vice-versa,” he said in a statement, here today.
Ahmad Fuad said while users from Klang and Kuala Selangor who want to go to Ijok, can use Jalan Rawang-Bestari Jaya to Jalan Bukit Badong. He hoped the motorists would bear with the temporary inconvenience caused by the closure of the highway for about 10 hours and a shorter period on the affected roads. — Bernama
