04:25pm – KLCC – Bersih supporters fill the carpark at the iconic twin towers to the brim, with the crowd spilling into Jalan Ampang and nearby areas. The group which marched from Masjid Jamek also arrives at KLCC with more coming via LRT. The total number at present is estimated to be around 30,000.

8:35am – Police have set up road blocks at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in front of Sogo to prevent people who wear red or yellow from entering the road.
8:30am – A FRU team of around 50 are having a briefing in front of Sogo. Several trucks and a water cannon are seen parked outside the Dang Wangi district police station.
8:20am – About 7,000 policemen are on duty to ensure security and public order during the Bersih 5 and Red Shirt rallies in the city today. Police have cordoned off several main road that lead to Dataran Merdeka including Jalan Perak and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Roads in these areas are also closed:

Police have opened 58 diversions to ensure smooth traffic during the closure of the roads involved.
8:15am – Police have cordoned off several roads in the city, barring people from entering Datran Merdeka where the Bersih 5.0 rally is scheduled to be held. A Red Shirts rally is also scheduled to be held today to counter the Bersih rally.

7:50am – Masjid Negara – The first order of the day at the national mosque is breakfast. Vendors selling nasi lemak and other goods have popped up, and are serving Bersih supporters, policemen, and other folks in regular clothes.
7:40am – Petaling Street – Plenty of Bersih protestors have arrived in downtown Kuala Lumpur hours before the rally kicks off, as some are concerned about major road closures and fear being unable to enter the city later.
7:26am – Masjid Jamek LRT, Jln Tun Perak – The federal reserve unit (FRU) team of 50 members is holding a meeting in front of Masjid Jamek LRT station to discuss their duties in dealing with Bersih and reds crowds.
7:25am – Expected around tens thousands of Malaysians to take over major roads in Kuala Lumpur today for the planned Bersih 5 rally. Protesters are expected to gather at Dataran Maybank in Jalan Bangsar and the Bangsar LRT station from 10am onwards before marching to the final rally point at Dataran Merdeka. The rally is expected to last till 6pm.
7:00am – Protestors are set to gather at Jalan Bangsar and Masjid Negara. The city wakes up to its normal routine although road blocks are beginning to be set up. Dataran Merdeka at the junction of Jln Tun Perak and Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman is closed off. At Bangsar, the road from Jln Maarof to Jln Bangsar has been closed off as Dataran Maybank is one of the Bersih gathering points.
