GEORGE TOWN, Nov 22 – A conference on Crime Prevention which organized by Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Penang Chapter and Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) was happening at St. Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang this morning. The purpose of the collaboration of MAH Penang Chapter and PDRM is to foster a good relationship between PDRM and Penang hotels in order to work together towards reducing crime rate in Penang and making it a safe destination.
The conference also aims to educate key personnel in hotels on the types of crimes and how they are being committed so that they, in turn, are able to effectively educate their guests and tourists on precautionary measures that can be taken to avoid falling prey to these crimes.
The conference, with the tagline ‘Partners-In-Crime Prevention’ featured talks by Inspectors Zaim Azfar Bin Zahari from the Special Branch on ISIS threats in Malaysia and ACP Gan Tack Guan, Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department who spoke about Crime Trends in Penang.
In additional, Police Chief of Penang, CP Dato Abdul Ghafar bin Rajab; Malaysia Association of Hotels Penang Chapter Chairman, Mr. Khoo Boo Lim also present in this conference. The conference also attended by approximately 60 hoteliers and 20 PDRM officers.
