Flash Floods Hit Penang Again

GEORGE TOWN, Apr 1 – After two-hour of downpour this evening, just before 7pm, caused several parts of low-lying areas in the state were hit by flash floods.  Among the badly affected areas were Bayan Baru and Jalan Kampung Relau where cars were reportedly stuck in floodwaters that rose as high as knee-deep water level. Other affected areas were Paya Terubong, Farlim, Jalan Masjid Negeri, Sungai Dua and the flood-prone Jalan P. Ramlee and its surroundings. This is the second flooding incident in the past one week.
