KUANTAN, May 2 – Pahang police detained three suspects believed to be involved in drug trafficking and seized drugs worth RM350,000 after carrying out raids in Kuantan and Maran last week. Pahang police chief Datuk Rosli Ab Rahman said in the first raid at Jalan Lorong Bukit Setongkol at 9pm on Sunday, two suspects in the 40s, were detained in a car.
“Upon inspecting the car, 4,529g of heroin and 1,208.50g of syabu worth RM200,000 was found,” he told reporters at the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters, here today. Rosli said initial investigations revealed that both suspects had previous criminal records for involvement in drug related activities.
In a separate raid in Maran, Rosli said police detained a 41-year-old suspect at the Chenor Maran Toll Plaza rest area at 2.15pm on Friday and seized drugs worth RM150,000. “Investigations revealed the suspect had 3,750.6g of heroin, 536.87g of syabu and 500 Erimin 5 pills in his car. He also had RM500 cash. The suspect who had five previous criminal records also tested positive,” he said. The suspects would be remanded for a week. — Bernama
