PETALING JAYA, Aug 20 – Former Felda Global Ventures Bhd (FGV) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad was released from the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission custody on bail today after his five-day remand expired. The Magistrate’s court set bail at RM150,000 with a personal bond of another RM350,000, plus two sureties.

Isa, 68, was arrested by the MACC on Aug 15 to facilitate investigations by he Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) into the purchase of a hotel in Kensington, London in 2014/2015. Mohd Isa was detained on Tuesday and remanded a day later. He was detained in connection with the overpriced purchase of one hotel in London by the corporation’s subsidiary, Felda Investment Corporation (FIC).
