GUA MUSANG, Sept 30 – A family of four, including a newborn, was killed on-the-spot when their car collided with a rice-laden lorry at Km52 of Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai here yesterday. The deceased were identified as car driver Zainuddin Anuar, 30; his wife, Raizuamira Daud, 31; their 13-day-old son, Zayyan Nazreel Zainuddin; and a daughter whose identity has yet to be ascertained.
The lorry driver escaped unhurt. Gua Musang police deputy chief DSP Abdullah Daud said initial investigations revealed that the Gua Musang-bound lorry from Kuala Krai skidded and veered into the path of the family’s Proton Wira in the 8am crash. He said the impact of the crash left the car badly mangled, adding that firemen spent about an hour extricating three of the bodies. The victims, who were from Parit 8 Timur, Sungai Besar in Selangor, were sent to the Gua Musang Hospital. — Bernama
