Lorry Driver Passes Away On Penang Bridge After Suffers Heart Attack
GEORGE TOWN, Oct 7 – A lorry driver suffered a heart attack and passed away at the wheels when he was going across the Penang Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The incident which happened in the afternoon, led to a massive congestion from the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway all the way to the Penang Bridge.
It is learnt that the incident occurred at KM6.3 of the Bridge mainland-bound, after a 46-year-old lorry driver sustained heart attack around 2.30pm before he was pronounced dead at the emergency ward at the Seberang Jaya Hospital. With no one controlling the lorry, the vehicle backed into a taxi behind, crushing the front portion of the white-coloured cab. A post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow. Police have since classfied the incident under Road Transport Act 1987. — PN
