The First Penang State Mid-Autumn Festival 2017 At Esplanade
GEORGW TOWN, Oct 7 – The first Penang State Mid-Autumn Festival 2017, who organised by Penang State Government, was happened at Esplanade, Georgetown here this evening. The event was officiated by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, President of People’s Justice Party YB Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail, Penang State Minister for Tourism Development YB Danny Law and more.
The festival is also a special day of reunion for family members to get together to admire the full moon. There are many interesting programmes and performances lined up for this evening including famous performing groups specially invited from Sanya, Chengdu and Juizaigho.
Penang is a well know city for cultural and religious celebrations. Through out the year, Penang State Government have so many interesting and unique festivals which attracts many locals and tourists to Penang such as Thaipisam, St Ann Festival, Nine Emperor Gods Festival and many more.
These festival reflects diversity of the people of Penang who have been living harmony for hundreds of years and makes Penang a unique tourism destination. Aside from local celebrations, the Penang State Government ia also very supportive of international celebrations such as Penang Bon Odori Festival, Penang Thai Festival, Penang Indonesia Festival and many more.
Penang State Government have developed a close relationship with the consulate offices and the state government hope the same can be achieved with the Mid-Autumn Festival. Besides festivals, there are many things to see and experience in Penang. From heritage attractions, world-famous street food, amazing street and trick art museums to Penang Hill, The Top Komtar and shopping, there’s always something for everyone when visiting Penang. — PN
