PETALING JAYA, Oct 14 – The official pricing for the latest iPhone models has been released on Apple’s website, though only the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are available for preorder. It cost at least RM3,649, the 10th anniversary model. While the iPhone X’s price has been revealed, no release date has been announced, will cost much more.

The new iPhones now only come in two storage capacities: 64GB and 256GB. This is a departure from the usual three storage options for newly released phones. Apple Malaysia revealed on its website on Saturday that the iPhone X will retail at RM5,149 for 64GB and RM5,899 for the 256GB model. Two colour options are available – Silver and Space Grey. In contrast, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus offer the same two colours plus a Gold option.

Local telcos (Celcom, Maxis, Digi, U Mobile) have already started preorders for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The smaller iPhone 8 will retail for RM3,649 and RM4399 for the 64GB and 256GB version respectively while the iPhone 8 Plus is priced at RM4,149 for the 64GB version and RM4,899 for the 256GB edition. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will officially go on sale Friday, October 20. — PN
