Landslide Strikes Tanjung Bungah Construction Site; 15 Feared buried
GEORGE TOWN, Oct 21 – Unconfirmed reports indicate up to 15 people are feared buried after a landslide struck a construction site in Tanjung Bungah. The sheer face of the hill near Lorong Lembah Permai 3 collapsed at about 8.30am today.
The state Fire and Rescue Department’s initial report stated that at least two people have been found so far. The report added that the hill face that slid down was estimated to be 10m high. A foreign worker, who witnessed the incident, said everything happened so fast and there was hardly time to do anything. — PN
